I feel fat. I blame it on Halloween candy, Thanksgiving pies, and the entire month of December, when there are just too many good hors d'oeuvres and cocktails to pass up, and not nearly enough time to exercise. So what's my ho-hum-heard-it-before New Year's Resolution? Drum roll please. It's...to lose weight! But since I don't want to seem like a completely shallow person who's all caught up in appearances, I thought I should have another more meaningful resolution, i.e., being kinder to the planet. Luckily, I can keep both resolutions at once by buying fitness wear from Alternative Apparel, Ailin, and Omala. All three offer super comfy, super stylish pieces—yoga pants, hoodies, tank tops, jackets, and more—that I can wear to my yoga class or my twice-weekly sessions with the personal trainer that I'm definitely, absolutely, positively hiring this year. And all three lines use eco-friendly fabrics like organic cotton, bamboo, and recycled polyester. By choosing them over conventional fabrics, I know I'm doing a little something to help the environment. So if for some reason—that’s totally beyond my control—I can't stick to my exercise plan, I'll still feel good about myself. After all, isn't saving the planet so much more important than being skinny?
