Why It's Good:

They may pack you in like sardines (what airline doesn't in coach?), but we've flown them to and from London, and they are very nice. They offer you a cute little travel pack, and have movies, tv, and games on your seat back, and have been known to offer you Baileys after dinner.

Why It's Green:

Virgin has instituted a few procedural changes that have cut their fuel use by 25%, including towing planes out to the takeoff point (instead of creeping forward, which normally uses seven TONS of fuel), and waiting on the ground after landing instead of circling in the skies. They're also researching a new biofuel, and a carbon-composite plane, which can fly at very high altitudes and consume less fuel per hour than an SUV.
