The Best Blush for Every Skin Tone

It's the heart of the winter, which means it's been months since the sun kissed my face for longer than it takes to walk to and from my car. Any healthy color I picked up during summer has long since faded. Because bronzers can be too obvious this time of year, and my dry skin won’t tolerate powders, I'm a huge proponent of using gel and cream blushes to create a dewy, pinched-cheeks flush. Tarte's Cheek Stain is arguably the best gel blush out there, so I was ecstatic to learn that it's now available in a greener formula. The All Natural Full Blossom Cheek Stain is somewhat creamier than the original, but it's just as goof-proof going on: Rub your fingers over the stick then apply to the apples of your cheeks in a circular motion, blending back toward your hairline. The sheer color is build-able, so I can apply it a few times until I look healthy again. Plus, I feel healthier because I know it's made with mineral pigments, moisturizing shea butter and safflower seed oil. A blend of antioxidant-rich extracts from botanical sources like the goji berry and the acai fruit are also added for their anti-inflammatory, anti-aging and skin softening properties. This healthy glow should fend off sallowness straight through to spring.—Megan O'Neill
