It keeps growing every year. Right now experts say more than 70 billion dollars a year is spent by couples looking to have that perfect wedding day. What's changing is that some of that green is being spent on "green weddings."
Choices abound for that bride wanting to plan an eco-friendly special day. Briana Bird, a KTLA staff member, is collecting and recycling bottles and cans to save money for her honeymoon. She earned 500 dollars in the first four months of her quest.

Summer package tours are nothing new. Michigan's Rothbury Festival, however, has taken some Earth-conscious steps to stand out from the usual pack of natural resource hogs.
Taking place over the Fourth of July weekend at Double JJ Ranch, Rothbury is aiming to be the most environmentally sustainable music fest in the game. It already boasts the usual host of climate-friendly acts, including Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Phil Lesh, Primus, Thievery Corporation, Modest Mouse and more. And sure, Snoop Dogg is on board, but everyone knows how much he loves the green. All kinds, evidently.

North Lake Tahoe casino opens organic bistro

Eco friendly and organic eateries are coming up with triple sevens at casinos in the Lake Tahoe area. Monday, May 5 opened a new chapter in conscious cuisine for the Crystal Bay Casino with the soft opening of Bistro Elise.
Organic coffee standards are increasingly becoming established for many reasons, heavy chemicals, deforestation and fair trade being the most controllable.

Different shades of green for wine fans

Green wines are growing. These are "eco" green wines that their makers say are made in harmony with nature. In the United States their sales are up, as is the number of vineyards using organic farming methods.
There are various grades of green. First, there is wine made from vineyards that practice "sustainable farming." This is a rather loosely defined designation, which means that the wineries use a minimum of chemical treatments and preserve the natural balance of the soil.

Eco-Living: Hogging the lime light

MAYBE it's the dreary spring weather, but I find myself in need of a boost. The brain has absorbed all it can about micro-renewables, organic farming and recycling, leaving more primitive desires: I need chocolate and celebrity gossip and I need them now.
A tray of Green & Black's minis takes care of the sugar craving, but while flicking through exclusive shots of Kerry Katona's afterbirth and lurid tales of Amy Winehouse's midnight trips to her local corner shop, I realise that you can't escape destiny. Our home-grown celebs might be otherwise engaged, but over in Hollywood, the stars are outdoing themselves trying to prove who's the greenest of them all.
