Liz Earle Energising Body Scrub

Why It's Good:

Keeps your skin smooth and silky and leaves it looking radiant, and the energizing scent (from a blend of nine essential oils) makes it the perfect morning wake-up call.

Why It's Green:

The scrub is free of harsh chemical surfactants (suds-makers) and synthetic fragrances. The product bears the "leaping bunny" logo, which means it meets the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics' standards for being a cruelty-free product.

Scrub Your Skin Sexy

It's time to slough off the rough stuff and reveal your softer self—and by that we mean, exfoliate. Every few minutes our skin sheds about a million dead cells and if we don't scrub them away, it looks blah (read: dull, gray). Clean, smooth skin, on the other hand, immediately looks healthier. And exfoliating does even more than that. (1) It makes your skin softer—exfoliating before applying moisturizer helps skin soak lotion up better. (2) It makes you less hairy—exfoliating before shaving gives a much closer shave. (3) It makes self-tanner more natural-looking—exfoliating before self-tanning helps prevent streaking (pay special attention to your knees and elbows). What scrub should you use? We like this one from Liz Earle. It's got ground olive stones to gently massage your skin and a fusion of nine essential oils (eucalyptus, grapefruit, and sweet orange, among them) to soothe your senses. It doesn't contain any chemical surfactants (suds-makers), such as sodium lauryl sulfate, but it still has the frothy lather you're looking for, thanks to natural derivatives of corn and coconut oil.
