    there's something about an updo that immediately makes us feel like another level of glamorous. if you have the patience to create a work of art out of your hair, this style is just the thing to compliment your little black dress. it works best on medium to long hair. anna ayers, of the green cocoon hair studio, in new york city, explains how to weave sections of hair to create this look.1. prepare hair start with hair that hasn't been washed for a day or two, this will actually work better than clean hair for an up do, says ayers. apply rahua conditioner to hair ends to protect hair and create soft and silky hair for style. 2. section off and curl comb hair with a wide-tooth comb to gently detangle. then take 1-inch sections of hair, curling each piece from the ends to 2 inches away from the scalp. continue around your entire head, working from front to back. 3. weave the updo now take 1/2-inch sections of hair (about 6 on each side), beginning at crown area. alternating from side-to-side, i.e., taking a piece from the left, then right, twist each section and cross each other (like an x), then pin down with a bobby pin. continue down the head  as if making a loose french braid, pinning as you go, leaving curled hair ends loose. repeat this process all over until the majority of your hair is pinned back - leave 1 or 2 loose curls around face. use a shine cream like intelligent nutrients organic finishing glossif you encounter flyaways as you go. 4. complete the look finally, make loops with each curled loose hair end and pin under at scalp with bobby pins, repeat with remaining loose curls. to hold style, mist hair with simplyorganic control medium hold hair spray and voilà, a beautiful and impressive look!
