Her Own Eco-Makeover

Natural-history documentary producer, and longtime energy and environmental mover and shaker, Susan Short is no stranger to green living. Her hands-on experiences include giving an eco-makeover to Costa Rica's Harmony Hotel. "After two years in Costa Rica, I returned home to NYC inspired to look at my home through a new lens," says Susan. "I knew the big topics — water, waste reduction, energy efficiency, home purity, biodynamic gardening and food. But the process did not come as easily as the outline!" From her desire to help others sidestep the intensive research she had to put into creating her own eco-deluxe two-bedroom Nolita duplex, Susan founded Deep Green Living. And her deep green home is a testament to high-end sophistication mixing beautifully with down-to-earth ecological concerns.
