Recycled Glass and Concrete Surfaces

Why It's Good:

Pretty, heat-resistant and stronger than marble, Icestone makes a great durable (yet subtly glittery!) stone-like material for countertops (but don't chop on 'em—you will dull your knives), flooring and backsplashes. Does need to be resealed once a year.

Why It's Green:

Made of 100% recycled glass in a cement base, Icestone puts zero-VOC (i.e., zero toxin-emitting) sparkle in a kitchen with what would otherwise have futilely glittered in a landfill.
