Eat to Ease Consumption:

Roughhewn Oval Sandalwood Vase by Mbanda

Why It's Good:

Feel good about buying home accessories when they are as beautiful and socially-conscious as this hand-carved vase from Mozambique. The proceeds of its sale go directly to help combat global hunger.

Why It's Green:

The Hunger Site will fund 50 cups of food for each vase purchased. Its fair-trade website is a sibling to other online stores that are solely dedicated to charitable causes, including saving the rainforest. While the sandalwood is not necessarily sustainably harvested, the vase is hand-carved, saving on carbon emitted by machines, and provides a fair wage to local artisans.
