New organic bedding by Under the Canopy, Area, Plover and Amenity

Just in—the newest bedding styles in the Spring 2008 home collections! What's your pleasure? Sweet white eyelet? Check, from Under the Canopy. The prettiest intense sky blue you've ever seen? Right here from Area. Soft and sumptious springtime patterns that will inspire envy? Plover's all over it. Modern graphics that depict nature at its simplest? Amenity's got you covered.

All collections are made from 100% certified organic cotton (a first for Amenity), which means they were produced without many, many pounds of chemical pesticides washing into our soil and drinking water. Under the Canopy's duvet buttons are made of coconut, a sustainable material.

I don't have any furniture in my country place. Zilch. Once tag sale season revs up, I'll get the place up to snuff. But for now, I've been sleeping on an Aero bed my best friend lent me that deflates during the middle of the night. My saving grace is Under the Canopy's new white eyelet organic bedding (pictured, top left), which gives the inflatable pallet the look and feel of something it's not, a luxuriously dressed, proper bed. Soft yet crisp, the sheets are as clean as they look—their being organic means no breathing in of subtle off-gassing throughout the night. I look forward to filling the country linen closet with some of my other faves: Amenity's Birdseye duvet cover (pictured, bottom left), Plover's Blue Wave quilt (pictured, bottom right), and Area's Mist Charcoal sheet set (pictured, top right). Next week I hope to take the plunge and buy a simple pine frame and organic futon. And maybe splurge for an alpaca wool summer-weight comforter.—Allison Reynolds
