Why It's Good:
Smack in the middle of Back Bay, this hostel is close to some of the best museums, restaurants, and shopping in the city. It's a short walk to Fenway Park if you want to take in a Red Sox game (they were the 2004 World Series champs), and the Charles River if you're into sailing or kayaking. Stroll through Boston Common or take the nearby T (public transportation) to any of the myriad historic sites. If you're too tired to go out at night, the television has over 250 movies available.
Why It's Green:
The hostel's eco-program encourages staff and patrons to be stewards of the earth by offering recycling stations, energy-efficient lighting and appliances, recyclable carpet, eco-friendly cleaning supplies, and low-flow plumbing. The flip-flops provided to guests for showering are later sanitized and donated to shelters.
