Chop Chopstick Use:

Disposable chopsticks are the #1 use of rainforest wood after furniture: 25 million trees are chopped down each year. Keep a reusable pair on hand and tell the next waiter who offers you chopsticks, "No, thanks."

Held Over Vintage Shop

Why It's Good:

Held Over can be a little overwhelming at first, but this large store is very well organized by era and theme. You'll find rows of 80s puffball dresses, vintage t-shirts, and double-breasted sports coats. If you're in the market for accessories, you're in luck. Glass cases are filled with antique brooches and rings. You'll also find trunks full of silk scarves, gloves of all lengths, and newsboy caps. Be prepared to deal with a mild vintage odor, but just close your eyes for a minute and pretend you are in grandma's attic

Why It's Green:

Buying second-hand means you are reusing something that already exists, thus, cutting down on new materials, waste, carbon emissions and energy use.

Where To Get It:

Visit Held Over at 1543 Haight Street in San Francisco; call 415-864-0818 for more information.
