See Ya CFLs:

Recycle used CFLs at your local Home Depot, IKEA or check Earth911.org for drop-off locations in your zip code. If your state permits you to put used or broken CFLs in the garbage, seal the bulb in two plastic bags and put it in the outside trash. Don't incinerate, as CFLs contain a small amount of toxic mercury, an average of about 5 milligrams, which would get released into the air.

Goodbyes

Why It's Good:

By the looks of it, you would never guess that you'll find labels like Chloe, Dolce & Gabbana, Miu Miu, and Dior. Be forewarned—you will have to be in the mood for sifting. Although all the labels are designer, there is a lot of junk. But don't despair: Make your way to the back and you will find the store's best feature—a dedicated shoe room. Instant heaven! Painted with bright cantaloupe walls and decorated with black-and-white fashion photos and antique damask chairs, one could spend hours back here. Go ahead, satisfy the shoe lover in you!

Why It's Green:

True fashionistas never let an opportunity to own designer labels pass them by. So, look très chic and feel good, because reusing clothing is a form of recycling. When you reuse clothing you do the environment a favor because reused clothing requires no new materials, fuel, or energies for manufacturing; virtually the only environmental cost you pay is shipping.
