Why It's Good:
This line by perennially green CFDA-winning designer Rogan Gregory is the first organic line for the GO International label from Target. Other designers who have contributed to GO roster are Proenza Schouler, Behnaz Sarafpour, Patrick Robinson and Libertine, to name a few. These street-chic clothes are precisely where fashion fanatic meets organic-on-a-budget.
Why It's Green:
The summer fun separates are constructed from mostly 100% organic cotton. Other fabrics include nylon, linen and a splash or two of spandex. Rogan Gregory is the brain child behind Loomstate, an entirely organic line of casual threads, and is also design partner to Ali Hewson and her husband Bono (maybe you've heard of him) on a line of denim that since its launch has fostered sustainable employment in developing countries, particularly Africa.
Where To Get It:
From left: striped jersey black/white T, $19.99; wide-leg white pants, $39.99. Middle: short black jumper, $39.99. Right: Linen striped black/ivory vest, leopard-print yellow tank, $16.99; skinny leopard-print black-on-black pants, $39.99.
Right on Target: The Chicest, Eco-Cheap Clothes Around
My ritual is always the same when I enter Target—head straight to and do not pass GO, the fabulous designer-driven line that is always the first few racks in the clothing department. (They put the best first: A+ for the visual merchandising team!) Don't be mad, but the super-chic casual Rogan garb won't arrive till May 18th. I already am jazzed to pick up a little organic cotton striped vest (top right) and 100% organic cotton green button-down shirt. (I'm keeping my summer fashions a mellow, groovy Topanga-Canyon chic this season.) My coworkers here are over the moon about the lemon-yellow, subtly-leopard tank (top right) and the well-fitting trousers (bottom left). I'll tell you one thing, I'm not going to Target anymore with my cousin Megan, who without fail has me prank-paged. But if I'm wearing any of these killer looks, I'll be less mortified.—Allison Reynolds
