Trade Your Trash Bags:

If every household in the U.S. traded one 20-pack of tall plastic kitchen bags for recycled ones, America could save 39,000 barrels of oil – enough to heat and cool 2,200 U.S. homes for a year.

Mascara Vintage

Why It's Good:

Mascara used to be a barbershop in the 60s and Cara Samski, the delightful owner of this shop, has preserved some of the original fixings. The back wall is lined with old sinks and there's a barber's chair by the register. You'll find mostly 60s and 70s styles here, but you'll also find some innocent 50s and New Wave 80s pieces. Mascara is known for being the most inexpensive vintage boutique in San Francisco, but you certainly wouldn't guess that by looking at the merchandise.

Why It's Green:

Anytime you reuse, you help save on the resources and carbon emissions that might have been produced by something new, and you prevent something from potentially going into a landfill. So go ahead, give yourself a new look and give these clothes a new life.
