Brooklyn Flea market

Item Posted: APR 15, 2008

Decades ago, folks flocked to flea markets for its thrift appeal, but these days, flea markets are just as cool as downtown boutiques. We opt for the Brooklyn Flea because it’s the largest outdoor market in New York City. They’re open every Sunday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and house a ton of great finds like old school Nike Uptowns in styles and color combos you’ll never find at the Nike Store, recycled furniture from vendors including salvage store Build it Green! NYC, and handmade jewelry by Birch Vintage.

The Brooklyn Flea brings together vendors of new and vintage furniture, lighting, clothing, jewelry, and more. Buying already made items means fewer resources were consumed and fewer pollutants and carbon emissions were produced by manufacturing new items.

Note: The Brooklyn Flea is located at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. To find out more information, click here.
