Summer's Hottest Tropic
The last time I took a proper vacation, it was with my family and dear Dad was footing the bill. School loans, city rent, and nine dollar salads at lunchtime have collectively thwarted my plans to escape to an island for a week of much needed R and R (Relaxation and Rum cocktails). So instead of pouting about it, I'm bringing the island to my 400 square foot apartment with a little luau. I'm inviting the crew and grilling up some fresh fish while the blender cranks out icy pink drinks and the iPod cranks out the Beach Boys. And in lieu of a grass skirt and coconut bra, I'll wear my new flowery modal top from Forever 21. The modal material is spun from naturally renewable beech trees and it will look fresh and fabulous with a pair of crisp white pants and cork wedges.
