Le Manoir Richelieu Resort

Why It's Good:

Nestled between the sea and the mountains, Le Manoir Richelieu is a nice balance of charming Canadian countryside and sophisticated fancy resort, where you can partake in golf, whale-watching cruises, downhill and cross-country skiing, horseback riding, and tennis. You can even try your luck in the world-class casino. Most of the gorgeous rooms have views of the stunning St. Lawrence River.

Why It's Green:

The rooms are cleaned with environmentally friendly cleaning products, all corporate collateral is printed on recycled paper using soy-based ink, all complimentary lobby coffee is organic, shade grown, and fair trade, the hotel uses energy efficient bulbs in some areas and they have low flow systems for faucets, toilets, and showers. Le Manoir Richelieu, located within a World Biosphere Reserve, is facilitating research into the threatened St. Lawrence Estuary beluga population.
