Lead In Your Computer:

Televisions and computer monitors contain between two and eight pounds of lead, and account for an estimated 40% of the lead in landfills, which leaches into the soil and groundwater. To find out where you can discard your old monitors, visit Earth911.org.

Why It's Good:

Those leather pants seemed like a good idea at the time, but now we know better. In fact, we found that the secret to successfully wearing leather on our lower bodies is that we shouldn’t. And then EcoDomo came up with this ingenious idea, offering us the option to cover our floors with the fabric instead. Now our homes couldn’t get more rock n’ roll even if we paid Gene Simmons to do our housekeeping.

Why It's Green:

EcoDomo tiles are made from recycled leather, natural rubber and acacia tree bark—materials that are completely renewable within a 5-year cycle. Plus, the acacia tree bark is harvested from trees that aren’t damaged in the process, which makes for less scrap in our landfills.
