The Lodge is committed to conservation of the 110 million-year-old rainforest and its location in the Douglas Shire, the site of two World Heritage-designated spots: the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Daintree Rainforest. Daintree is a great example of the ecotourism model, which encourages interaction with indigenous cultures while respecting and protecting local environments.
