The FDA allows a product to be labelled natural if it contains 3% natural ingredients. To be certified organic, a product must contain 95% organic ingredients, and there are strict laws on how they are grown and harvested.

The cane juice, cacao powder, and unsweetened chocolate in this mix were organically grown (i.e. without the use of toxic pesticides or fertilizers). The product is also Fair Trade, which means the growers were paid fairly and worked under safe and ethical conditions.
