Greener Dish Cleaning:

Many dishwashing liquids are non-biodegradable and contain phosphates that harm our freshwater sources. To clean pans without a toxic detergent, fill with cold water, a lot of salt and a slice of onion. Let pan set overnight, then bring to a boil for 5 minutes. Once cool, the burnt food will come right off.

Marin Organic

Why It's Good:

One of Cowgirl's special seasonal cheeses, Pierce Pt is made with whole milk, bathed in muscat wine, then rolled in fresh local herbs. Comes with local Marin County organic olive oil and artisanal honey, so just rustle up some crusty bread, salami, and crackers and invite the crowd over for an impromptu wine party. Also makes a great gift.

Why It's Green:

The cheese is handmade from organic milk, the olive oil comes from an organic olive orchard, and the honey is harvested by hand.
