The shade names--such as Shower Together (sky blue), Unplugged (mocha) and Tree Hugger (you guessed it: leaf green)—at first glance, were a bit too tween for someone of my, shall we say, age and sophistication. But then I spied Recycle, a concrete gray (reminiscent, to those who name product, of piles of newspaper stacked curbside?), which seems all of a sudden more hip and fresh than whatever Vamp-y retread was the latest edgy must-have for celebrity nails. This slate hue seems just right for summer and sipping a sweating cocktail on a city rooftop as I watch a hazy sunset fade away. Or maybe I should do like many a young, socially conscious Hollywoodian and opt for Hybrid (a neutral almost beige blush). Because Ballet Slipper is so last century.—Maria Ricapito
