Tilapia Is Tops :

Unlike most farm-raised fish, which must eat other fish to grow, tilapia is an omnivore that can thrive on soy, corn, wheat, algae and plant waste. Plus, tilapia farms can be housed indoors where resulting wastewater and pollution are better controlled. Thirty thousand pounds of tilapia can be raised on just three acres annually — the same amount of space it takes to raise one 650-pound cow. — Slowfoodnation.org

Glossy and Bossy Fabulous Nail Colors

The shade names--such as Shower Together (sky blue), Unplugged (mocha) and Tree Hugger (you guessed it: leaf green)—at first glance, were a bit too tween for someone of my, shall we say, age and sophistication. But then I spied Recycle, a concrete gray (reminiscent, to those who name product, of piles of newspaper stacked curbside?), which seems all of a sudden more hip and fresh than whatever Vamp-y retread was the latest edgy must-have for celebrity nails. This slate hue seems just right for summer and sipping a sweating cocktail on a city rooftop as I watch a hazy sunset fade away. Or maybe I should do like many a young, socially conscious Hollywoodian and opt for Hybrid (a neutral almost beige blush). Because Ballet Slipper is so last century.—Maria Ricapito
