Daintree EcoLodge & Spa Queensland, Australia
Item Posted: MAY 16, 2007
Set in a rainforest, this treehouse-style spa and lodge pampers the environment almost as lavishly as it does its guests. Take an Aboriginal guided walk through the lush surroundings or step out onto your balcony for a private Jacuzzi soak among the trees.
The Spa's signature product line, Daintree Essentials, is created from local rainforest water and fine ochres and organically grown native fruits, nuts, and flowers; plus it's free from mineral oils or petrochemicals, and the packaging is 100% biodegradable or recyclable. The Lodge is committed to conservation of the 110 million-year-old rainforest and its location in the Douglas Shire, the site of two World Heritage-designated spots: the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Daintree Rainforest. Daintree is a great example of the ecotourism model, which encourages interaction with indigenous cultures while respecting and protecting local environments.
Note: Rates range from (AU) 510 - 688 per night, depending on accommodations, number of people, and season. Packages also available.
