Green By Nature Almond Cocoa Body Butter and Body Lotion

Why It's Good:

When only sweet scents for your skin will do, these are the products to reach for. They're naturally fragranced with almond oil so they smell like homemade baked goods—a comforting aroma on stressful days. They also contain enough botanical butters (cocoa seed, mango seed and shea) to keep skin hydrated for hours. And the price is right, too.

Why It's Green:

Green by Nature's body butters and lotions are all at least 95% natural and made without synthetic fragrances or preservatives. And like all of the brand's products, they’re also paraben, sulfate and DEA-free. Plus, all packaging is recyclable to minimize waste and its impact on the Earth. Green by Nature is also a member of the 1% for the Planet organization, an alliance of businesses that donate 1 percent of their annual sales to environmental causes.

Sweet Skincare for a Steal

There's one thing I always need when baking anything sweet, from cookies to cake to biscotti: my mom's secret ingredient, almond extract. She used to lace just about everything with at least a teaspoon of the purest stuff she could find. This could explain my affinity for any skincare product that’s almond-scented, but I’ll never need another since finding Green by Nature's Almond Cocoa Body Butter and Body Lotion. They contain so much sweet almond oil that the heady scent takes me right back to all those joyful, carefree moments spent baking with my mother. In fact, I've taken to keeping a tub of body butter by my desk and taking a sniff whenever I need to de-stress. Oh, and the products are great for soothing dry skin, too, and they don't invoke worries about toxins as they're made without chemicals whose names you can't pronounce. I guess you could say they really take the cake—without taking up any of your time in the kitchen.—Megan O'Neill
