Deep Steep
Deep Steep Candy Mint Foot Polish and Lotion
Why It's Good:
Peppermint leaf extract gives your tired tootsies a kick-start while aloe vera keeps them soft and smooth. After a pampering self-pedi with this foot care duo, you'll be ready to dance the night away—even after a long day of holiday shopping.
Why It's Green:
Deep Steep products are made without parabens (a synthetic preservative linked to cancer), petroleum (a non-renewable resource), and artificial fragrances, and are packed with organic herbs (such as aloe vera and rosemary leaf extract), which were all grown without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers so there's no icky runoff into our land or water.

Our Latest Foot Fetish
One of Sprig's staffers wanted to know why so many foot products contain peppermint. Is it because peppermint can cover the smell of really stinky feet? Not entirely. According to Stephanie Tourles, author of Organic Body Care Recipes, peppermint contains menthol, which stimulates circulation so it rejuvenates tired feet, and it also has anti-inflammatory properties, so it soothes and relaxes your muscles. It just so happened my feet were in need of exactly that kind of pampering in this season of city sidewalk shopping and dancing under the mistletoe in our festive Charmone boots, so I thought I'd try something minty to see if it really worked. I gently scrubbed my calluses and the rough spots on my heels with Deep Steep's new Candy Mint Foot Polish, which contains exfoliating jojoba beads and walnut shells; then with my skin still a little damp (it helps lock in moisturizer), I massaged the shea butter-packed Candy Mint Foot Lotion all over my feet, which left them nice and soft, and really did "wake them up." Oh, and they did smell much better too—it turns out peppermint is a really good deodorizer after all.
