Say No to Paper Napkins:

Americans use 2,200 of them a year, or six a day. If we gave up one paper napkin daily, a billion pounds of paper would be prevented from going into landfills every year.

zap three wheel truck

Why They're Good:

They may look like something clowns pile out of at the circus, but Zap's cute and compact electric Xebras are no laughing matter: Reaching speeds of 40 mph and distances of up to 25 miles per charge, these brightly colored three-wheelers are packed with plenty of power to get you where you need to go. Choose from a surprisingly roomy four-door sedan or load-hauling (up to 1,000 pounds!) truck (pictured). Moms, take note: The sedan can take a carful of kids on an ice-cream run across town, and with all the gas dollars you'll save, you could make those a triple scoop.

Why They're Green:

You'll be laughing right past those gas stations, because the battery-powered Xebra runs on the spare change at the bottom of your purse. What else were you planning on doing with it? An optional solar panel adds an extra kick of power or mileage when you need it.

Where To Get Them:
