Twice-as-Nice Tea Tip:

Reuse black tea bags: After cleansing, massage refrigerated bag contents over your skin; the caffeine helps tighten pores.

Orbit Baby Green Edition Bassinet Cradle

Why It's Good:

Orbit Baby's multitasking bassinet, complete with a sunshade extension (a.k.a. "paparazzi shield"), can be used as a Moses basket, on a stroller, or on a rocker. The rocker frame, which is included in the price, allows you to rotate the cradle a complete 360 degrees, so you can rock-a-bye baby to sleep any which way. The company also throws in a matching Cargo Pod, which snaps into the stroller attachment (available separately) for extra storage convenience. Other parent-friendly features include ergonomic carrier handles, a removable machine-washable mattress, and easy collapsibility.

Why It's Green:

Encased in an all-natural wool exterior — and lined with 100 percent certified-organic cotton — the cradle is completely free of PVC, phathalates, polybrominated diphenylethers (PBDEs), and other tongue-twisting chemical nasties. Plus, Orbit Baby products are designed to be easily disassembled for recycling purposes. To sate the do-gooder in you, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Nature Conservancy, a leading international conservation group.

The Ultimate Multi-Tasking Baby Stroller

If you've ever wrung your hands in anguish over your lack of square footage the way I have, you'll appreciate the appeal of multi-taskers that can pull double or triple duty in a pinch. A couch that transforms into a guest bed? Sign me up! A device that prints, scans, and makes copies at the same time? Here's my credit card! With a baby (read: "stuff magnet") on the way, I don't anticipate my pad getting roomier anytime soon. The fact that I can get a bassinet, stroller, and rocker in one relatively compact footprint — and not have to tax the planet's diminishing resources by buying all three separately — makes this expectant mom want to throw Orbit Baby a celebratory shower.—Jasmin Malik Chua

  Note:

The stroller frame with Cargo Pod attachment   ($485)

will be available on the company's website by the end of July.
