Plastic Bag Bangles

Why It's Good:

Just want to dip your toe into the neon-color pool? Here's a small piece of fierceness to liven up a neutral look.

Why It's Green:

Recycling is when a used object is transformed into something less valuable. Upcycling is the opposite: when an object's next life is actually higher on the use chain. These bangles are made from plastic grocery bags wound around vintage bracelets. Designer Stephanie Huffaker collects the bags to be upcycled from family, friends and the Brooklyn Freecycle network.
