A Better Veggie:

"Organic vegetables taste better than conventional because they develop deep root systems to absorb great nutrients in the soil. Conventionally raised vegetables don't have to work as hard because they're constantly being fed fertilizer." — Susie Quick, Sprig Food Editor

Pocket Mirrors

Why It's Good:

Scallops and zigzags and polka dots, oh my! You'll be in a state of constant primping if only to catch a glimpse of your choice of design from one of these lovely pocket mirrors.

Why It's Green:

Designer Nicole Balch uses recycled paper for the mirrors' covers. Good thing, since paper makes up 25% of landfill waste. Landfills account for 1/3 of the total emissions of methane — a greenhouse gas that's 23 times more potent than carbon dioxide.
