Finished With That Magazine?:

Be sure to recycle your magazines and newspapers instead of throwing them in with your landfill-bound trash. Paper that decomposes in landfills produces methane – a greenhouse gas that has 23 times the heat-trapping power of carbon dioxide. Landfills are the largest methane generators, accounting for 34% of human-related methane emissions.

A (Rachael) Ray of Hope for Puppies Everywhere

Food Network star Rachael Ray expands her empire to include dogs. The dog lover  has created a charity line of dog food based on recipes she created for her pit bull, Isaboo. All proceeds from Rachael Ray Nutrish Pet Foods will go to Rachael's Rescue, the charity she founded for at-risk animals. The first beneficiary is Spirit, a terrier mix that was savagely beaten on the US-Mexico border. To restore Spirit to good spirits, Rachael's Rescue will pay all medical costs for the dog's recovery. Cats, don't feel left out – Ray plans to create food for you, too. This seems like it could take more that thirty minutes….
