Skip the Burger:

According to researchers at the University of Chicago, eating one less burger a week substantially lowers your greenhouse gas emissions, while switching to a vegetarian diet can reduce your carbon output by 1.5 tons. By comparison, trading in a standard sedan for a hybrid car cuts your carbon footprint by one ton.

Origins Organics Foaming Face Wash
Youngna Park

Why It's Good:

Though it looks gel-like, it feels super-creamy, so it's perfect for dry skin. Plus, it's packed with organic oils — like coconut, jojoba seed, pink grapefruit, lavender, ylang ylang, patchouli, rose, and the list goes on — to nourish and hydrate.

Why It's Green:

This cleanser is made with tons of organically grown botanicals, including organic aloe vera, olive oil and rose oil. In fact, 73% of the product's ingredients are grown without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers — not enough for the U.S. Department of Agriculture certified-organic seal (which other products in the Origins Organics line carry), but still a good start.
