Need a reason to use a reusable tote or bottle? You won't be contributing to an island, or gyre, of plastic garbage floating in the Pacific Ocean that weighs near 3.5 million tons and is twice the size of Texas. Plastic never decomposes, choking marine life and leaching chemicals into the ecosystem.
This eclectic, modern L.A. home, decorated by Rachel Winokur of eTTA designs for lawyer client Deborah Saltzman, is thoughtful in execution and loaded with debonair detail. Located in the à la mode neighborhood of Los Feliz, the two-bedroom house abounds with fresh textures and green accents. Some eco-highlights: Winokur used salvaged hardware for the doors, local talent to create elegant window dressings, and bamboo flooring throughout. If Carrie Bradshaw left her beloved Manhattan behind for sunnier surroundings, this would be the house for her.
