Lead In Your Computer:

Televisions and computer monitors contain between two and eight pounds of lead, and account for an estimated 40% of the lead in landfills, which leaches into the soil and groundwater. To find out where you can discard your old monitors, visit Earth911.org.

kuyichi low-rise candy jeans

Why It's Good:

Hugely popular in Europe, Kuyichi still can't be found stateside, but we've found a UK retailer that'll ship internationally. (Assuage your carbon guilt by reading about Kuyichi's great green initiatives, below.) The Candy, one of the newest styles, is all about comfort and effortless street chic. We love the deep-blue wash and slightly slouchy fit.

Why It's Green:

Kuyichi, whose name comes from the Peruvian rainbow god, is committed to being as socially responsible as possible, ensuring that its workers are given the highest respect, great working conditions and fair wages. Kuyichi is a member of MADE-BY, a design collective committed to fair trade and the use of sustainable materials. These jeans are made from organic cotton by fairly paid workers.
