Knoll
Platner Dining Chairs
Why They're Good:
Collectors' items for the indulgent mid-century modern furniture buff set, these dreamy, retro-fabulous chairs were made by Warren Platner for Knoll back in the late 60s.
Why They're Green:
We were going to show you an original vintage one, which is the ultimate green as it's reusing something that already exists, but the price was beyond. No Warren Platner chair is going to end up in the landfill anytime soon due to its sturdy build and uber-coolness. (Sorry! We know this is a cheat. You can always use an eco-friendly fabric – you can even get some that matches the photo – to upholster this, or other, seating.) The steel wiring makes this chair's life expectancy a long one. We would love to see some repros made out of recycled materials.
