Greener Dish Cleaning:

Many dishwashing liquids are non-biodegradable and contain phosphates that harm our freshwater sources. To clean pans without a toxic detergent, fill with cold water, a lot of salt and a slice of onion. Let pan set overnight, then bring to a boil for 5 minutes. Once cool, the burnt food will come right off.

Hotties promote the sun

Maroon 5 cutie Jesse Carmichael made a video urging everyday Americans (like you!) to ask Congressional representatives to offer more tax credits for renewable energy. The video is part of Carmichael's Vote Solar campaign, which doesn't just advertise the benefits of solar power but actually works with political entities and systems in "removing regulatory barriers and laying the necessary groundwork for a solar future."

Adam Levine also makes a cameo but if it's too brief for your liking, you can always just pause the video and stare. With the lagging economy, the implementation of solar power probably isn't on the top of your congressperson's to-do list. Still, there's no harm in grabbing a pen and paper or your iPhone and planting some persuasive arguments out there!
