Natural vs. Organic:

The FDA allows a product to be labelled natural if it contains 3% natural ingredients. To be certified organic, a product must contain 95% organic ingredients, and there are strict laws on how they are grown and harvested.

Ithaca Fine Chocolates Art Bars

Why They're Good:

Ithaca Fine Chocolate's silky Dark Chocolate with Coconut bar is instantly craveable; one bite of the rapturous chocolate and snowy coconut flakes and you won't know how you even existed, pre-bar.

We also love the new Dark Quinoa Crisp and Dark with Cacao Nibs, which are delightful with a creamy cuppa joe. All Art Bars come packaged with a small reproduction of art by contemporary artists, with 10% of profits benefiting local and global arts organizations.

Why They're Green:

Ithaca's bars are made from organic- and fair-trade certified chocolate from the El Ceibo Cocoa Co-op in Bolivia, a group of small-scale farmers using sustainable, shade-grown agriculture methods. The chocolate is conched for 78 hours, using no soy lecithin or chemical emulsifiers, and is then sweetened with unrefined cane sugar. Each bar is packaged using recycled paper.
