Crane & Co.
Limon Note Cards
Why They're Good:
The currency of the handwritten note only seems to rise in value with the proliferation of e-mails, social networking websites and mobile applications. While there are certainly an embarrassment of riches when it comes to eco-friendly stationery, we remain loyal to the classic American sensibility of Crane & Co. In particular, these Limon note cards embellished with eco-friendly bike motif, capture the jaunty insouciance of summer.
Why They're Green:
Crane & Co. has a long track record of being environmentally minded way before green became fashionable. Their social and business stationery is made from cotton fibers that are mostly recovered from textile industry waste by-products. In other words, they're "tree-free." Last fall, the company also announced plans to up the eco-ante by building a renewable-energy center in Dalton, Mass.
