Paper Trail:

Each year, Americans trash enough office paper to build a 12-foot wall from LA to NYC. Use recycled paper: According to Conservatree.org, one ton of post-consumer recycled paper, or 40 cartons, can save 12 trees.

California, Here We Come

If you're ever at the Staples Center (home of the Los Angeles Lakers), take a look at the ceiling. Arnold Schwarzenegger was on hand this week to commemorate the venue's new rooftop array made from 1,727 solar panels, which will provide environmental offsets for the next quarter century and eliminate 10,000 tons of carbon dioxide. The Governator took the opportunity to argue that the Golden State also has different priorities from the rest of the U.S. "Everyone these days talks about some states that are red, other states that are blue, we here in California are more interested in building a green state. That is what this is all about here today. The outcome of the Celtics and Lakers would have been different if we had these solar panels two years ago!" Oh, Arnold.
