Alexander A. Khromtsov

Like saving green, living green is all about making small (but significant changes) to your daily routine. From sunup to sundown, each choice you make impacts the world around you, but these decisions need not be stressful in order for you to ease your stress on the Earth's resources. The good news is that green products are becoming more affordable and green living more widely accepted — and expected.

Here are 10 ways that Sprig has found to make your life and bank e-statement a little greener.

1. Prevent Road Wage

Get a bike. Ride it. You haven't forgotten how, we promise! But before you strap on a helmet, read up on some handy tips for commuting to work. Gas and taxi savings will be immediate. If cycling isn't an option, see if your company offers a tax-deductible public transportation program.

2. Getting Crunchy at Lunch

Eating out is pricey and ordering in comes with lots (and lots) of packaging. So bring your own food to work in this colorful, serotonin-boosting lunch box. During your lunch break, pay bills via the Web (to save paper) and shop online (to reduce gasoline expenses and emissions).

3. Bookworm, Meet Earthworm

Stop buying new books (few of which are printed on recycled paper) and get a library card. But if you still love owning, scribbling and underlining your favorite passages, buy discounted, used books from Amazon and Barnes & Noble, or share with friends on GoodReads.

4. Earthworm, Meet Bar Fly

Drinking what's on tap is typically more economical and reduces bottle and can trash (which the bar may or may not recycle). Beer from local breweries is also more likely found on draught.
